The Tara Ann Ralph Foundation is hosting its second annual fundraising Beefsteak Dinner and is also launching the foundations’ official cookbook - Just Add Flour.
The Tara Ann Ralph Foundation is a New Jersey based charity that helps families cover medical and living expenses caused by the financial hardship of caring for a seriously sick child. All funds paid out by the foundation are for the direct payment of bills. Expenses which are eligible for payment are not limited to medical expenses, however, the nature of the expenses will be considered on a case by case basis.
Last year’s sold out event successfully raised $23,000. This year the goal is to raise $30,000 through a combination of ticket sales, sponsorships, a silent auction, tricky tray, 50/50 and cookbook sales.

Rochelle Park, NJ, April 2, 2010 - The Tara Ann Ralph Foundation is launching an appeal for support for its annual Beefsteak Dinner fundraising event and launch of the foundations official cookbook - Just Add Flour. The annual event is the most important fundraiser that the foundation hosts and accounts for the largest annual influx of funds donated by the community.
The Tara Ann Ralph Foundation is a New Jersey based charity that helps families cover medical and living expenses caused by the financial hardship of caring for a seriously sick child.
“A simple act of kindness truly makes an enormous difference in your life”, said Diane Ralph, founder and president of the Tara Ann Ralph Foundation. “The benevolence that my family received during our time of need is what I want to give to other families who are experiencing what we went through so long ago.”
Tara Ann Ralph was born in 1974. Initially, she appeared to be a healthy baby girl. However, after arriving home, Tara became ill with an acute gastrointestinal illness. She could not eat and was losing weight quickly. Unfortunately doctors did not recognize the cause and were not able to provide effective treatment. Tara lost her brief battle with Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) seven days after her birth.
A year later, the Ralphs' had a second daughter. Soon after she was born, she experienced symptoms similar to Tara. Over the next year, their newborn daughter received extensive medical care at Babies Hospital in New York where she stayed for the first few months of her life. During this time the Ralph family received support from friends, family and community organizations. It was this support that inspired Diane Ralph to create the Tara Ann Ralph Foundation in 2005.
Last year’s sold out event successfully raised $23,000. This year the goal is to raise $30,000 through a combination of ticket sales, a silent auction, sponsorship and cookbook sales. To make this goal a reality the Tara Ann Ralph foundation is appealing to the local business community and individuals to get involved through sponsorship or by attending the event.
